Hungry Lotus is a family-owned food truck in McAlester, Oklahoma. We care about the folks we feed, and that includes being straight with you about the information we collect through hungrylotus.com and how we use it. The short version: we collect very little, we never sell it, and we only use it to serve you better.

Information we collect

Contact and catering inquiries. When you reach out through our contact page, email us, or ask about catering an event, we receive the information you choose to share, such as your name, email address, phone number, and details about your event.

Newsletter signups. If you subscribe to our updates, we collect your email address so we can send you news about specials, schedule changes, and events.

Automatically collected information. Like most websites, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site, such as which pages are popular and how people find us. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information like your device type, browser, approximate location, and pages visited. It does not tell us who you are personally.

How we use your information

That’s it. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

Online ordering and other services we use

Some things on our site are handled by companies we partner with, and their privacy policies apply when you use their services:

• Toast. Online orders are placed through Toast’s ordering platform. Payment and order details you enter there are handled by Toast under the Toast privacy statement.
• Google Analytics. See Google’s privacy policy. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
• Social media. Our site links to and displays content from Instagram and Facebook. If you interact with those, Meta’s privacy policy applies.
• Email delivery. Our newsletter is sent through an email service provider that stores subscriber addresses on our behalf.

How long we keep it

We keep contact and catering inquiries as long as needed to handle your request and for our business records. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics settings.

Your choices

• Newsletter. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. One click and you’re out, no hard feelings.
• Cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use the Google Analytics opt-out add-on linked above.
• Access and deletion. Want to know what we have about you, or want it deleted? Email us and we’ll take care of it.

Children’s privacy

Our website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect the information we hold. No website or email system is perfectly secure, but we keep what we collect to a minimum, which is the best protection there is.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the effective date above.
