Accessibility Statement
Last updated July 6, 2026
Everybody eats at Hungry Lotus, and everybody should be able to use our website too. We want hungrylotus.com to work for you whether you use a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, need larger text, or prefer reduced motion. This page explains where we stand and how to reach us if something gets in your way.
Our commitment
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, and we’re working toward WCAG 2.2 as we update the site. Accessibility isn’t a one-time checkbox for us; it’s something we consider whenever we add or change anything.
What we’ve built in
- Semantic headings and landmarks so screen readers can navigate by structure
- A skip link to jump straight to the main content
- Full keyboard navigation with clearly visible focus indicators
- Text alternatives on images, including descriptions of our dishes
- Color contrast chosen to stay readable on every background
- Respect for your reduced-motion setting: if your device asks for less animation, our site turns its animations off
- Text that scales with your browser’s zoom and font-size settings
Known limitations
Being honest about where things stand:
- Online ordering. Orders are placed through Toast’s ordering platform, which we don’t control. If Toast’s ordering page gives you trouble, contact us directly and we’ll take your order another way.
- Social media content. Content embedded from or linking to Instagram and Facebook is controlled by those platforms and may not meet the same standards.
- Older content. Some older pages and images on our site may be missing text alternatives or have other gaps. We fix these as we find them.
Something not working for you?
Tell us. Seriously. If any part of our website is hard to use or you can’t get the information you need, we want to know, and we’ll get you what you need another way in the meantime.
- Email: info@hungrylotus.com
- In person: find us at Spaceship Earth Coffee, 340 E Choctaw Ave, McAlester, OK 74501
When you reach out, it helps to mention the page you were on, what you were trying to do, and what device or assistive technology you were using. We aim to respond within five business days, and usually much faster.
How we check
We review the site with a combination of automated accessibility tools and manual checks, including keyboard-only navigation and screen reader testing. Automated tools only catch part of the picture, which is why your feedback matters so much.
